The long, dark days are here. I get up to run at 5:30 a.m. and it’s still dark this time of year. I wear a reflective vest so folks can see me. However, in the winter months it seems like drivers are are more in a hurry or just not paying attention as much as they should. Many mornings I have had close calls when I’m out on my run. I’m confronted with cars rolling through stop signs, cars not stopping at signs, cars not stopping when I’m in a crosswalk, etc. It’s the time of year when you need to be a bit more vigilant about cars paying attention when your out in the dark hours.
